Welcome from Principal Nadia Saint-Louis

Hello. I am Dr. Nadia Saint-Louis, the principal at North Little Rock High School. In our three Academies – the Academy of Business Management and Communication, the Academy of Leadership, Justice, and Teaching, and the Academy of Automotive Controls and Design – teachers focus on relevance, readiness, and relationships for all students. Our academies provide students with voice and choice, challenging learning opportunities, and hands-on engagement. College and career readiness is the focus for our Charging Wildcats!

Pathways

In the Journalism pathway, students develop skills in gathering and reporting news, editing, copy-editing, and headline writing. Students also consider issues such as the responsibilities of the press, libel and slander laws, censorship and the role of the news media in shaping public opinion.

In the Business Finance and Accounting pathway students gain an understanding of the banking and financial industries, beginning with basic economics as the underlying basis of the transfer and growth of money in the financial services system. Students will also learn how business financial services function in a company to make policy and set strategy for capital structure, budgeting, acquisition and investment, financial modeling and planning, funding, dividends, and taxation. Possible careers include accountant, loan officer, financial services sales agent, budget analyst and insurance underwriters.

JROTC stands for the Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps and is a military regulated program with a mission to educate students in leadership roles while making them aware of the benefits of citizenship. Possible careers span a variety of industries such as engineering, communications, logistics, aviation, intelligence, finance, medical, legal, etc. within the military.

In this pathway, students will focus on culinary arts, early childhood education, home economics, and parenting. Students choosing this pathway will gain hands-on experience in areas of personal responsibility, leadership, self reflection, time management, managing others, and record keeping.
